Jackson Dion
Also present and participating were: Tim Kortum, Manager, and Jessica Schott, Treasurer.

Thereupon, President Barry Rakes announced that legal notice had been given and a quorum was present so that the meeting was legally and lawfully ready to transact business.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Ms. Jessica Schott presented the members of the Buffalo Rapids Irrigation District No. 2 Board with an insurance coverage and rate comparison worksheet, outlining the quotes she had received for the 2023-2024 property/liability/commercial auto insurance package and contrasting them to the current MACo package which will be expiring on June 30, 2023. The quotes received were both obtained from PayneWest Insurance of Billings, Montana; one from Cincinnati Insurance Companies, and the other from Grundy Philadelphia Indemnity Insurance Company. Following an extensive discussion and coverage limit and deductible verification, the members of the Buffalo Rapids Irrigation District No. 2 Board determined that the proposal from Grundy Philadelphia provided higher coverage limits at a lower premium than the alternative quote from Cincinnati Insurance Companies and the expiring policy with MACo.
At 7:18 p.m., on a motion made by Lance Kalfell and seconded by Jackson Dion, it was,
RESOLVED, to accept the proposal from PayneWest Insurance for the Grundy Philadelphia Indemnity Insurance Company property/liability/commercial auto package, effective June 30, 2023-June 30, 2024, for an annual premium of $48,572.00. All in Favor. Motion Carried.
A form for the Prairie County Treasurer to transfer funds in the amount of $48,572.00 to cover the check to be written to the Clearing Account for electronic payment to PayneWest Insurance was signed at 7:20 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:26 p.m.
on a motion by Lance Kalfell, seconded by Jackson Dion. All in Favor.
Motion Carried.
