November 14, 2018 Special District No. 2 Meeting Minutes

MINUTES Of the MEETING OF THE COMMISSIONERS Of the BUFFALO RAPIDS IRRIGATION DISTRICT NO. 2 Terry, Montana NOVEMBER 14, 2018 The Special Meeting of the members of the Buffalo Rapids Irrigation District No. 2 at Terry, Prairie County, Montana, was held on the fourteenth day of November, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. There were present and participating at the meeting: Barry Rakes Lance Kalfell Scott Sackman Also present and participating were Tim Kortum, Manager, and Pat Davis, Treasurer, Strad Benjamin, Ben Wollman. Mr. Tim Kortum conducted a tour of the Buffalo Rapids Irrigation District No. 2 shops to better inform the members of the Board concerning the Machine Shop, pumps, and motors of the District. He talked about the current capabilities of the Machine Shop and what is still needed to be able to perform all needed repairs in the future. Tim reviewed the motors and pumps that were pulled for maintenance and or repair, and the new motor and pump that will be installed at Fallon River Pumping Plant. He explained how they had to fabricate materials in order for the new pump and motor to work properly and to be interchanged with more ease in the future. Mr. Kortum also toured, with the Board members present, a portion of the Fallon Division canal and Lateral RO.OR-A. He reviewed with the members of the Board the location for the proposed pipeline that the Montana State Department of Transportation wants to install. The State Highway Department stated that they have decided to abandon the culvert and are seeking other ways to ensure the delivery of water to the lands on the north side of I90. The meeting was adjourned on a motion by Scott Sackman, seconded by Lance Kalfell All in Favor. Motion Carried.
